Breast Augmentation Revision

Many patients seeking cosmetic breast surgery from Dr. Newman at Newman Plastic Surgery & Laser Center already have breast implants. They are seen for a variety of reasons. Some are unhappy with their surgical results; some were happy with their results initially but are unhappy with the way their appearance has changed over time. Some patients are happy with their size, but not with their shape, while others are looking for a very different appearance altogether. Patients are also seen with questions regarding their implants or implant-related issues.

Just as with any cosmetic breast patient, a successful outcome can only be achieved with a full understanding of concerns and goals. Successful surgical treatment usually requires a good understanding of exactly what was done during the initial surgery.

So professional, and kind. Very efficient, and I didn’t feel nearly as uncomfortable as I thought I would talking with him. I was scared to have surgery but he put me at ease and I have never regretted my decision. Great doctor.

Perhaps the most challenging patients any breast plastic surgeon sees are those who already have implants. Of the over 4,000 cosmetic breast procedures performed by Dr. Newman, approximately 850 are cases with implants already present.

During this large experience Dr. Newman has likely been involved in cases that present nearly every possible issue in patients who already have implants. It is a testament to Dr. Newman’s experience that he often sees patients with existing implants referred to him by other plastic surgeons.

Dr. Newman’s Notes

“Approximately 25% of my cosmetic breast surgery practice consists of patients who already have implants. These patients fall into three basic categories: Those who are unhappy with their surgical result, those who are dissatisfied with the way their result looks over time, and those who have complications from implants. My experience is clearly not typical and is likely a result of the strong concentration of cosmetic breast surgery in my practice.”
