What JUVÉDERM Does

Today is a week since my surgery and I just saw Dr. Newman for my second post-op visit. I am so thrilled. First of all his staff is wonderful. I am amazed at how I feel now only one week later. Dr. Newman told me that I’d be OK to return to work this past Monday only 3 days after surgery. Honestly, I didn’t believe him but as it turned out he was correct. I returned on Tuesday after surgery last Friday. At this point I have almost no pain and I only have a small bruise on my left side. My result is amazing and exactly what I told him I wanted. How JUVÉDERM is Administered
After consulting with Dr. Newman about the JUVÉDERM treatment, he will identify problem areas to know where to inject the fillers and what type of fillers to use. At the start of the treatment, a cream will be applied over the area where the injections will be administered. This topical anesthetic sits on the skin between 30 and 40 minutes and from there the fillers will be injected. The cream will lessen the chances of bruising and helps ease out any discomfort.
The whole procedure may take only about one and a half hours and you can go back to your usual activities right after. Puffiness and swelling are but normal effects of the procedure but this will only last a day or two. As long as you follow Dr. Newman’s advice, recovery will be smooth and breezy. Depending on which area of the face is treated, the results can last a minimum of 4 months. There are cases when results can last even longer.
