My Breasts Are Uneven…
One Breast Sags More Than The Other
I was a small B-cup and I wanted fullness, especially near the top of my breasts. Dr. Newman understood what I was looking for and gave me exactly what I expected.Barbara in Scarsdale
It is normal for breasts to be uneven or ‘asymmetric’. Sometimes the difference is noticeable as the breasts develop during teenage years and sometimes a difference isn’t really noticeable until after childbirth or weight changes. In most cases the asymmetry is slight and causes no issues. In cases such as the one pictured above, the difference is very noticeable. In these cases patients often feel self-conscious of their appearance and have difficulty finding bras and clothing that fit correctly.
In most of these cases either one breast is unusually small or one breast is unusually large. There are cases where there isn’t much of a size asymmetry, but shape is very different. Treatment of these patients often combines breast implant and breast lift techniques depending on the particular situation.
In the case pictured above, the patient was happy with the size of her larger breast, but unhappy with its shape. A breast lift alone was performed on the larger breast and a breast augmentation was performed on the smaller breast. When a surgeon like Dr. Newman has extensive experience with these situations, it is often possible to achieve a terrific result. In some cases additional procedures are needed to refine the result.
