Anesthesia is administered at the start of a breast augmentation. Dr. Newman makes small incisions in the armpit, the breast fold, or around the areola’s border. These are known as the transaxillary, inframammary, and periareolar incisions, respectively.

Once Dr. Newman has made the incision(s), he creates a pocket in the tissues for the breast implant. The implant is placed through the incision into the pocket. Breast implants can either be placed above or below the chest muscles. Incisions are closed using sutures and then dressed.

What is the Best Breast Implant?

Breast implant size is measured in cubic centimeters (ccs) and usually ranges from 120 cc to 850 cc. Larger breast implants are best for certain patients, while smaller implants are best for others; the choice will be based on the patient’s frame, proportions, and their cosmetic goals.

Implant type refers to the material the implant is filled with. When choosing breast implants in White Plains, you’ll be able to decide between silicone, saline, and gummy bear. Silicone and gummy bear implants are both filled with silicone gel. Gummy bear implants are form-stable, which means that they maintain their shape if there is a rupture.
