Dr. Scott E Newman Prominent New York Cosmetic Surgeon Emphasizes There Are Many Motivating Factors for Breast Surgery

New York City, April 14, 2011 – When the topic of breast augmentation or cosmetic breast surgery is approached, many immediately conjure stripper, Vegas cocktail waitress, Heidi Montag, oversized, mountainous, cleavage bearing breasts that defy gravity and the clothing wrapped around them. But prominent New York Cosmetic Surgeon Dr. Scott Newman who specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery notes the majority of women who opt for cosmetic breast surgery are more interested in finding the right size for themselves rather than obtaining overpowering breasts that enter the room before their body does.

For these women, simply finding a bra to fit comfortably and properly is impossible, and they are forced to add padding to create a uniform appearance in clothing. Dr. Newman’s symmetrical breast enhancement procedures bring balance and proportion to a patient’s form, allowing her to feel more comfortable in and out of clothing.

Another common augmentation procedure is breast reconstruction, especially with breast cancer patients. The devastation of going thru a mastectomy or double mastectomy is softened with a reconstruction procedure.

Pregnancy and nursing can have an adverse effect on a woman’s breast shape and size causing sagging and, in some cases, a change in the amount of breast tissue. These are women who simply want to return to their pre-baby size and shape.

And, for some women whose breasts are underdeveloped or disproportionate, augmentation can produce complementary body symmetry.

The latest annual report released early in February 2011, from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), of which Dr Newman is a prominent member, notes an increase in cosmetic surgical procedures for 2010 by 2 percent with breast augmentation as the number one selected procedure.
