How do I know if I am a good candidate for a Brow Lift?
As with most plastic surgery procedures, a good candidate for brow lift surgery:
- Is in overall good health
- Is dissatisfied with their look
- Has realistic expectations of what the surgery can and cannot accomplish
- Is a non-smoker or is willing to quit smoking for a period of time before and after the surgery
To determine if you are a good candidate for brow lift surgery, and to get a good idea of what you might look like after the surgery, as well as the healing time involved and other issues, please schedule a brow lift consultation with Dr. Scott Newman.
Can I have a Brow Lift and a Facelift at the same time?
The combination of a brow lift and a facelift is quite common, as is the combination of a brow lift, a face lift and a neck lift. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is also commonly added. Having this combination of procedures done at the same time can provide dramatic results and greatly reduce the signs of aging in your face overall.
Combining a brow lift and a face lift also helps reduce the cost of the surgeries, as facility and anesthesia costs are only paid once. It also reduces the amount of time you must set aside for your surgery. If you would like to combine your brow lift with a face lift or other cosmetic procedure, be sure to discuss this with Dr. Newman.
How long does a Brow Lift take?
The length of time spent performing a brow lift depends on the extent of the work you have decided to have done as well as what procedures you have decided to have performed at the same time. A brow lift alone might take an hour or two, while a brow lift combined with a face lift could take four or five hours. The brow lift will also take a bit longer if you opt to have endoscopic surgery, which uses much smaller incisions, instead of a traditional brow lift.
How long after Brow Lift surgery can I return to work?
Dr. Newman will provide post-surgery instructions, which will give you a good idea of how long you should rest and what precautions you should take after your brow lift. In general, you will probably want to rest for a few days after surgery to give your body a chance to recover and to give the swelling time to go down. You will probably be on oral medication for pain relief for a day or two after the surgery, as well, which might affect your ability to drive. In general, you will most likely be able to return to work in a week or so if your job is not strenuous.
