Breast Enhancement Surgeries
What is a breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that uses implants to increase the size and shape of the breasts. Many women who undergo this surgical procedure are trying to fix volume lost via pregnancy and weight loss or gain. Although this isn’t a permanent solution, many women want the immediate results that come with this surgery. Dr. Scott Newman is skilled in the positioning and shaping of breast implants after a careful consultation with his patients.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery statistics, breast augmentations achieved over 286,000 in number; that’s one of the top grossing plastics procedures in the United States. This augmentation procedure requires some substantial recovery time.
What is a breast lift?
The breast lift is usually combined with the breast augmentation or reconstruction surgeries. A breast lift is a surgery that helps adjust the sagging skin and nipples to create a younger look in the breasts.
The breast lift is the second most popular breast augmentation surgery in the United States, in 2014 alone, there were over 130,000. Depending on the length to which you want to change the size, look and shape of your breasts, you’ve probably considered augmentation with an added lift surgery.
GalaFlex, Another Treatment Option
So many women all over the world have contemplated breast augmentation and lift, which exceed these numbers, but not all women are too keen on the idea of adding implants to their bodies. Dr. Scott Newman has performed countless breast lifts, having perfected the art, but has begun a new treatment that is revolutionary to plastic surgery. Dr. Newman is implementing a new treatment apparatus called GalaFlex. Bra’s are no longer the only support these days for your top half.
What is GalaFlex?
GalaFlex is a new naturally absorbed implanted apparatus that acts as a bra-like support system beneath the skin. Instead of moving forward with a breast lift, Dr. Newman is using the new Galaflex support meshing that is made out of natural material called P4HB.
Breast lifts are difficult to maintain over time and can lead to re-treatments. The breast lift procedure relies on the skilled techniques of the plastic surgeon but, also, is dependent on the muscles and ligaments beneath the skin and the elasticity of the skin itself in the breast. A lot of the procedure success depends on the condition of these natural parts of the breast area.
GalaFlex changes this idea and helps to support those natural elements by becoming an integrated support system within the skin. The meshing made up on P4HB is placed surgically within the breast area and naturally absorbed back into the skin over a period of twelve to eighteen months time.
How does GalaFlex work?
The breast lift is essentially designed to help tissues in the breast that have weakened through lack of collagen and elastin growth in the skin. With the GalaFlex meshing, the meshing absorbs into the skin and helps to promote this loss in elastin and collagen fiber growth.
GalaFlex can be a supplemented support added to a breast augmentation and is the best support system for a breast lift. The meshing is a very thin material that, dependent on your particular breast surgery will be inserted just beneath the superficial tissues of adipose (fat) and around the nipple. The meshing has been used in the past during many procedures such as hernia replacement, having a proven track record to give muscle the support it needs and collagen fibers a chance to reinforce themselves.
Dr. Newman has performed a series of GalaFlex successfully supported breast procedures, and can answer any questions you may have about the meshing. Call Advanced Plastic Surgery & Laser Center to schedule your consultation for the GalaFlex treatment today.
