Breast Augmentation - Case #2195
Case 22 of 49
This patient is a 52 year-old woman 5’5″ tall 140 lbs. who complains of not only droopiness (ptosis) of her breasts but also a loss of size after moderate weight loss. In my opinion she needed a breast lift but she did not want this surgery as she was concerned about the scars. I decided to place her implants over the pectoralis muscle so the breast implants alone will lift her breasts without breast lift surgery (mastopexy.) This procedure is not appropriate for every patient needing a breast lift. Placing
Implants: 350cc Round Smooth Silicone implants placed over the muscle.
What this patient has to say about her surgery:
“No other doctor even offered me the options that Dr. Newman offered. I have a bad scar on my leg and I was worried that I would then get bad scars on my breasts. Dr. Newman explained the pluses and minuses of putting the implants in over the muscle and, for me, I think it was the right choice. I got the size that I wanted, and the look of a breast lift without the scars. I went back to one of the other doctors who told me that I would never get this good a result. Dr. Newman is a really talented surgeon.”
